(BANDEROLES FOR ALCOHOL, TAX STAMPS FOR CIGARETTES)
Hungarian Banknote Printing Company has been continuously manufacturing tobacco and alcoholic beverages tax stamps for the Hungarian National Tax and Customs Administration in accordance with the regulations enforced in the second half of the 1990’s.
Both banderols for alcohol and tax stamps for cigarettes are printed on an individual security paper, manufactured specifically for this purpose with security graphic design in the background print.
The tax stamps for alcoholic beverages are printed on special security paper manufactured solely for this purpose with security graphic design in the in the background print. The Mercury logo in the rosette is surrounded by microprint. There is also a special, individually designed hologram stripe on the sides. For increasing the anti-counterfeit quality of the product from 2006 there has been a barcode communicating with the numbering and from 2013 also a 2D barcode added to the security features of the banderol.

The tax stamps are indicating a digitally printed identification data, the serial numbers, the quantity and the prices of the cigarettes.
