Postage stamps are used for paying for mail delivery fees, and may be regular or special issue stamps. There is no difference in the appearance of regular and special stamps. The main purpose of issuing special stamps is to meet the stamp collectors’ demands. Special stamps are issued in the volume stipulated in the relevant announcement, and re-print is strictly forbidden.

The first postage stamps with a portrait of the poet, Sándor Petőfi, was printed by our company in 1949, using intaglio printing. The first offset-printed postage stamp series were printed in our printing house in 1957. All duty stamps, and most of the regular or special postage stamps issued in Hungary are printed by HBPC.

HBPC is the only company in Hungary capable of manufacturing postage stamps by intaglio printing or by combining intaglio and offset printing. All duty stamps, and most of the regular or special postage stamps issued in Hungary are printed by our company.
