Being one of those companies that have the biggest influence on Hungarian economy, we are fully aware of the fact that our operations greatly impact the environment and society, therefore, we pay special attention to environmental protection.
The Banknote Printing Company realizes its environmental operations by the environmentally conscious and dedicated behaviour of its leadership and its each and every employee.
The Company operate an environmental management system, which complies with ISO 14001 international standard. This system has been ensuring the continuous improvement of Banknote Printing Company’s environmental performance since our certification was issued in 2003.
Similarly to our proprietor, the National Bank of Hungary, in order to further improve our environmental performance, in 2007, the board decided to introduce the EMAS (Eco- Management and Audit Scheme) regulated by the 1221/2009/EC regulation issued by the European Parliament and the European Commission.
An independent body audits the compliance to this regulation, and also certifies the Environmental Statement of the Banknote Printing Company.
Based on ÉMI-TÜV SÜD Ltd.’s certification, our Company has been recorded according to EMAS under the reference number HU-000041.
