The series consists of seven denominations with a uniform size of 154 x 70 mm, with intaglio printed parts on their front and back side. Certain background motifs are fluorescent under UV light. The banknotes are provided with horizontally and vertically located serial numbers.They also contain the year of production and the president’s and vice-president’s signature of the National Bank of Hungary.

Banknotes

The new currency, the Forint, succeeding the Pengő, was issued in 1946. The production of the Forint banknotes was carried on by unchanged technology till 1996. As a result of a complete technology reconstruction in 1997, the printing of a quite new, state-of-the-art Forint banknote series became possible.
